The Department of Audiology offers graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Audiology, all recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The department boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment on par with international standards. The facilities include Audiometers for conducting Pure Tone Audiometry, Speech Audiometry, Behavioural Observation Audiometry, and other behavioural assessments. In addition, hi-tech equipment are available to perform Physiological tests (Tympanometry, Reflexometry, Wideband reflectance, Oto-acoustic Emissions), Electrophysiological assessments (ABR, ASSR, EcochG, MLR, LLR, etc), Vestibular evaluation (VEMPs), Electroacoustic measurements and Real Ear Measurements. The department provides comprehensive services for the assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of individuals across the lifespan — from neonates to the elderly. The department is headed by Dr. Prajna J. Bhat, Professor and Deputy Director, with over 13 years of experience in academia, administration, research, and clinical practice. The students are being guided by experienced faculty members. The department fosters an environment of academic rigor, clinical excellence and cultivate a strong foundation for teaching and innovation. The department’s initiatives often involve collaborations with national and international organizations, enhancing the global relevance of its academic contributions. Alumni from the department are successfully employed in hospitals, academic institutions, and rehabilitation centers both in India and abroad.
