I was introduced to the field of Speech and Hearing, by one of the most honourable men in my life Mr Peroumal , my grandfather- who was the Academic manager of Arupadai Veedu medical college at that time.
I joined t BASLP course at Vinayaka Missions University, Pondicherry in the year 2010. Pursued my post-graduation at Bangalore University in 2012.
The Dept. of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology at AVMC campus provided me with all the support that a young inquisitive student would need to achieve. We were supported with a very talented faculty and infrastructure, which provided us a better hand on experience compared to other institutions. The motivation and support from Prof N D Rajan with his faculty helped me to present my research papers in ISHA -CON for 3 consecutive years starting from my very 1st year of studies. And this experience gave the confidence in me to do my next research article in the 1st year of my post-graduation and I was able to win the 1st prize in International Symposium on Audiological Medicine – Bhubaneswar. The institution has also given me a wide exposure in the field of speech and hearing by choosing a variety of internship postings which bolstered up my knowledge, contacts and my professional growth. Started my career as an Implant Audiologist and Speech Pathologist at KKR ENT hospital Chennai. My business aspiration made me to move to my hometown, where I worked as full time clinical Audiologist and lecturer in a PIMS hospital and started my private clinical practice – “United Care –Hearing aids and Speech Therapy clinic, Pondicherry”. Though my private clinical practice was a big success, I always wanted to widen up my exposure professionally, therefore to pursue clinical competence in Audiology and to plan my Doctorate, , I completed my supervision, other qualifying exams and received the full membership from Australian college of Audiology, as a Qualified Audiologist. " It has been a great experience learning from the professors, with practical exposure. We were exposed to community based awareness and rehabilitation activities, an experience which students in most colleges won't get. The staff have always been helpful and guiding us for the future! . Sam Moses.S (BASLP) Currently doing MSc. Audiology . |

Finding the right path to success at the right time is really very important and for that way I had selected BASLP in AVMC, VMRF in the year 2009. The friendly environment, the systematic approach towards imparting education made me a competent individual. The wide range of activities- both curricular and co-curricular- along and the support from management is really very helpful for my future. The faculties are really very kind and approachable when any need arises. What I learnt here formed the basis for my masters and helped to excel in every position I took in my career. I thank the faculties who moulded me and the management which provided the resources to learn. Khwaja Moinudeen.K Assistant Professor Dept.of Audiology&SLP AVMC. |
